The short version

MRIPrices.ca sets no cookies. It runs no third-party analytics, no advertising pixel, and no tracking script from any other company. The only thing it records about a visit is described below: an anonymous event fired when you view or click one of the site’s own promotional units (a placement — see the disclosure page), and a randomly-generated identifier held in your browser for that purpose alone.

Advertising measurement

Some pages on this site carry a placement — a small unit linking to one of our own pages (a cross-link) or to a clinic’s own site (a featured-clinic card). See the advertising disclosure for what each label means and how a placement is chosen.

When a placement renders on a page you view, and again if you click it, we record an anonymous event: which unit, which page, your browser’s viewport width, and a randomly-generated session identifier. That identifier is generated in your browser and stored in sessionStorage under the key mri_placement_sid — not a cookie. It is generated fresh the next time you open the site in a new tab or after closing the browser, and it is never linked to any account, email address, or other identifier we hold, because we hold none.

We do not record your IP address, browser/device user agent, a device fingerprint, or any precise location. The session identifier exists for exactly one purpose: telling whether a click on a placement came from a browser that also saw the placement rendered on the page, which is how we check our own click counts against a partner’s independently rather than trusting one side’s number blind. A visitor with JavaScript disabled, or with browser storage blocked, is unaffected in every way that matters for using the site — the only difference is that their click cannot be cross-checked this way.

Clicking a placement takes you through a first-party redirect on this domain (/api/go/...) before sending you to the destination. That redirect is how we count the click at all; it adds no delay you would notice, and it is excluded from search-engine crawling (see /robots.txt).

What this site does not do

• No account system, no login, no email collection tied to a placement view or click.
• No cookies of any kind — first-party or third-party.
• No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising script.
• No sale or sharing of any data with a clinic, an advertiser, or anyone else — a partner never receives your session identifier, only an aggregate count.
• We do not use anything described on this page for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond counting placement views and clicks.

Where the prices come from

Every price shown on this site is transcribed from a clinic’s own published document and dated with when we read it — see the note in the site footer. No personal or clinical information about any visitor is involved in producing that data; it is sourced entirely from clinics’ own public materials.

Questions

MRIPrices.ca is a named, single-operator site — the owner behind Alberta’s legal-status review is named directly on that province’s record. A dedicated contact page has not shipped yet; if anything above is unclear, or you want a specific event deleted (the session identifier alone cannot identify you, but a good-faith request will be honoured), that page is the current way to identify who to reach.
